Becoming an investor
I’ve wanted to be a venture investor since I was in high school. I loved the idea of working with people creating the next generation of technologies and companies that would change the world.
While I didn’t make it into the VC space right out of college, after 15 years of commercial and finance roles across various sectors of healthcare I joined Lilly Ventures, the corporate venture capital group at Eli Lilly and Co. My time in operating roles is now paying off in spades as I lead Lilly Ventures’ first Tech investing strategy and advise senior leaders across the organization on opportunities in the life sciences and health tech spaces.
In this privileged role, I get to invest behind the founders and ideas that I think have the best chance to change healthcare for the better. At the same time, I get to play a key role in shaping the future of Lilly.
I’ll be using this blog to share what I learn along the way, as well as offer my two cents on what’s interesting across a number of topics.
Thanks for the quick read and check back soon for more.
